PonicLabs is a joint effort by Henrique Sanchez and Martin Basterrechea where we explore and experiment with novel and alternative cultivating methods without the use of soil.
While we are moved by visions of sustainability, circular economy, and bountiful harvests as much as anyone else, the truth is we aren’t leading agricultural experts. Rather, we are simply passionate and excited about tinkering and discovering new things, and sharing that with others for feedback and inspiration. If that helps you feed you and your loved ones better then great!
We are self funded and any revenue we might make from our knowledge here we hope to give back by creating a library of useful knowledge and to fund additional experiments and sharing our findings with all of you.
About our team: Henrique specifically has a MSc in Environment Engineering, having done his thesis in aquaponics and anthroponics, and has built a variety of mineral and organic hydroponic systems, as well as helped design, build, and operate a CSA aquaponics system in Malmö, Sweden. He currently works as an R&D engineer in wastewater treatment.
Martin on the other hand has a MSc in Bioinformatics, has also built mineral hydroponic systems and helped operate the aforementioned CSA aquaponics system. He currently works as a Software Developer.
